South facing orientation |
The original 1930’s incinerator was oriented not by design along the east-west axis. However, it was the perfect complement to optimize and control the available sunlight from the south. |

Motion/heat/light sensors |
An artificial lighting system was installed that included high efficiency fluorescent fixtures and lamps, coupled with photo sensors and motion sensors. |

Daylighting |
Daylighting strategies reduce energy use and cooling load. Tinted glass windows were install to maximize available sunlight, while still reducing the amount of glare. Although the goal of the project was to maximize natural light, a high efficiency fluorescent lighting system was also installed. |
